Rondawel Guest Farm is ideally situated as a halfway stop-over next to the N1, 35km from Richmond on the road to Three Sisters. This working sheep farm offers typical Karoo experiences and hospitality. Rondawel has four thatched stone rondavels, with own bathroom and tea and coffee-making facilities. There are three double rondavels and one family unit, sleeping four people (additional mattresses can be arranged). Bedding and towels provided. All rooms have a roof fan and heater. There is also a separate thatched dining and socialising area where drinks and meals are served.
Rondawel is really a safe oasis enroute through the Karoo." Come and enjoy our farm's natural splendour, beautiful sunsets and exceptional stargazing". Birdwatching is a great favourite with guests as plenty of bird-life abounds in the surrounding trees and fountain dam. Children are encouraged to feed the geese and swans on the dam. If you would like to stretch your legs, we can suggest taking a hike into the calming Karoo landscape. You can cool off in the farm (cement) dam close to the rondawels during the warmer months. Pets allowed (bring own bedding and food). No smoking allowed in rooms.you on their little piece of heaven.
English breakfasts served on request. We offer a traditional buffet dinner with lamb, venison pie/bobotie, roast potatoes, pumpkin fritters, beans etc. (veggies in season). Or you can have a braai/barbecue with Karoo lamb chops, sausage (boerewors), farm-baked bread and homemade jams and salad. Please pre-arrange. Communal kitchen available with microwave and fridge/freezer.
Your hosts, Pieter and Tereza van der Merwe, are looking forward to spoiling you.
