Bookbinding and book restoration workshops

Kindly select the session that you would like to attend.  Please note that all the sessions are the same and are to be repeated in the different time slots.  The message in the text will give you a brief outline of what will be dealt with in each workshop.  We only have space for 20 per session and it is on a first come first serve basis.

Richmond Book Festival 22-24 October 2009
 
The National Library of South Africa will present three bookbinding and book restoration workshops at the Richmond Book Festival. Topics covered include: introduction to book and paper preservation, short history of paper, surface cleansing, adhesives in paper repair, make up of a book, minor book repairs. The workshops form part of the Library's community training programme and are free. A maximum of 20 participants can be accommodated per workshop. The 3-hour workshops will be held on 22 October 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00 and 23 October 9:00 to 12:00. Places can be reserved with Jenny Raatz or 021-976-5036/7 or 072-602-0403.
